Publisher's summary
Don't even ask us the title, because it's a secret! Have you ever read those new-comics blurbs that promise things like, "After this issue nothing will ever be the same again," but you know in a few months none of those so-called big events will have mattered? Well, this isn't one of those times. This time when we say FABLES will never be the same again after this issue, that's a promise you can take to the bank. So, without further ado: After this issue of FABLES, nothing will ever be the same again. Oh, and someone dies.
Plot
Chapter Three: The Fire Ship
The Glory of Baghdad bombs the second-to-last Empire gateway, but the Empire hides a dragon underneath them. The dragons burns and brings down the whole ship, injuring Prince Charming while the Emperor gets free.
Chapter Four: Fort Bravo!
The Empire use a magical arrow that hits Boy Blue and scratches Bigby. Prince Charming and Sinbad begin to deliver the last bomb to the last Empire gateway, while the Empire's soldiers attack Bigby's base in the Homelands. Bigby fights the Emperor, but loses round one. In round two, he wins by loosening the Emperor's leg joints while Boy Blue decapitates the Emperor again.
Epilogue: Amnesty
At the funeral, Mr. Toad is confirmed dead, and likely Prince Charming as well. Bigby, Pinocchio, and Bigby take Geppetto to Fabletown where he signs a peace contract with Fabletown, finally ending the war.
