"A Man's Home is His Castle: Part One of Father and Son" is the fifty-seventh issue in Fables.

Publisher's summary

Part 1 of the 2-part "Father and Son," featuring phenomenal Art by Mike Allred (Madman). As tensions continue to heat up between Fabletown and the Empire, Bigby reluctantly decides it's finally time to square accounts with his long-estranged father, the North Wind. Bigby may not like him, but since he is the grandfather of his cubs, who seem to adore the old man, a trip home seems to be in order. So Snow and Bigby and all six (seven?) kids make the journey to the North Wind's keep.

Plot

Bigby and his family use the magic flying carpet and make it to the North Wind's castle. Bigby tells Darien that he is the leader of the kid's first kill hunt, which is important to wolves. The cubs hunt and one is in grave danger. Meanwhile Bigby and his father discuss things, like the children and choosing sides. Pinocchio gives his father a present, a wooden bug carved from the remains of the Sacred Grove, only to be hit and yelled by his father as he is the only one that can carve out of the Sacred Wood Grove. Snow and North Wind question the whereabouts of the children, and Bigby mentions they went on a harmless hunt. However North Wind says the forest is infested with hellish monsters.
