"Frankenstein Versus the Wolf Man: War Stories, Part Two" is the twenty-ninth issue of Fables.

Publisher's summary

"War Stories" Part 2 of 2. Featuring guest art by Tony Akins (MASKS: TOO HOT FOR TV) & Jimmy Palmiotti (CATWOMAN). A band of American infiltrators is behind enemy lines and in for the fight of their lives deep in World War II Germany as a mythical monster is pitted against Bigby Wolf.

Plot

Bigby turns into a werewolf and attacks Frankenstein and kills one of the doctors. However Frankenstein awakens and attacks Bigby. Meanwhile in the castle, the Americans and Nazis open fire on each other. Bigby and Frankenstein battle savagely and throw each around the lab. Sergeant Harp betrays his own men and starts killing them, but one manages to kill him. Bigby rips off Frankenstein's head, but surrenders when Nazis troops armed with silver bullets threaten to kill him. The scientists take some of Bigby's blood and plan to drain him of enough blood to make an army. However Harp saves Bigby, with Bigby escaping the exploding castle. Bigby then turns back into wolf form to get the rest of the men treated in exchange that they keep his secret.

The story finishes, and Bigby (now in the Business Office) telling Bufkin to put the book in a correct place. Bigby then says hello to Frankenstein, still alive, but only a decapitated talking head living in a shrouded bird cage near the Mayor's desk. Finally, Bigby visits Duffy's grave.
