Publisher's summary
One of the most famous Fables of all might be restored to her former glory, but it's not going to come without a cost. The benefactor behind her magical resurrection has also come to collect from Geppetto, who we learn has a few strings of his own. Is this godlike being really the one behind the rise of the Empire? Trivia
Peter Pan was originally intended to be the antagonist behind the Empire, but was replaced by Geppetto in order to avoid copyright issues.[1] His role as Geppetto's superior and old ally serves as a callback to that.
Continuity
- The Farm is partially wrecked, a result of somre of the human Fables accidentally being transformed into animals in Fairest #32 — "Glamour Day: Chapter Six of The Clamour for Glamour." It has been repaired by the time of Fables #162 — "The Black Forest Chapter Twelve: Rightful Prey."
- Peter Pan states that his minions worked hard over the ages, locking the magic of the mundane world away. According to Mister Revise in Jack of Fables #2 — "Jack in the Box," when he first came to the mundane world it was filthy with magic, and had witches, angels, devils, and pagan gods everywhere. He and his team nearly had that world completely free from magic when Fablekind arrived.
- It is revealed by the first Jack in the Green that the arrow that struck Boy Blue and pierced the Witching Cloak in Fables #75 — "War & Pieces, Part Three: The Fire Ship" was a Thanatos Arrow.
- "Thanatos" is the personification of death in Greek mythology.
