Publisher's summary
Don't miss the special holiday issue – and because you've been good all year, it's even got extra story pages! Christmas is here, and we know this holiday isn't always jolly for our favorite Fables. In this issue we get a glimpse into the future fates of our wild and dear Rose Red.
Plot
The story is told in multiple chapters. The story roughly echoes the classic tale, A Christmas Carol.
Chapter One: The Chimes
During Christmas time, Flycatcher brings some Fables to the Farm where they have a Christmas party. Winter magically brings her family home, but Bigby Wolf says that her training will have to wait after Christmas.
Chapter Two: The Cricket on the Hearth
The New Hopeful, the new Paladin of the Good Lady, takes Rose Red on a journey. Rose Red accompanies Santa Claus on his Christmas trip to Wolf Manor. Santa tells Rose Red that she needs to pick a theme of hope that will represent her.
Chapter Three: The Battle of Life
Rose is taken to meet the little match girl.
Chapter Four: The Haunted Man and the Ghost's Bargain
In the third part of her journey, Rose meets some familiar-looking ghosts who are in attendance of the false bride. A promise is made.
Chapter Five: A Christmas Carol
Rose Red is happy to wake up in her own bed on Christmas morning (although the fact that the cubs saw her during the journey, suggests that it was not a dream). Therese opens one of her Christmas presents, and is displeased to find out it's a toy boat.
